James Ianuzzo would like nothing more than to be able to operate his sign business out of a building of his own. At his current location, just east of the Piestewa Freeway at Shea Boulevard, parking is a problem. “I would be willing to build my own place if the city gave me a handout,” he said. “But if I asked, they would tell me to go play in traffic.” Ianuzzo, a plaintiff in the lawsuit filed Wednesday challenging Phoenix’s $100 million deal with the developers of the CityNorth project, says he has spoken to no one who approves of the decision. “It’s overwhelming,” he said.
