Jerry Thiele wasn’t worried about the score of last year’s Super Bowl. When the festivities unfolded in Miami, he was keeping an eye on air traffic. As the airport manager of Buckeye Municipal Airport, he knew what happened in Florida airports as a result of the big game was a solid indicator of what to expect in Arizona come February. Thiele’s forethought has given Buckeye a chance to spruce up its airport with $1 million in improvements for the Feb. 3 Super Bowl.
