D.R. Horton Inc., one of the nation’s largest home builders, said Thursday that profits plunged 85 percent in the January-March quarter, and its chief executive said the weak housing market would continue into 2008. D.R. Horton is the market leader among Valley builders. The company racked up more than 5,600 new-home permits across its three Phoenix-area divisions last year, according to Home Builders Marketing.
