Finding a good base can be tough. Even when you do, its breakout might not work. If you can’t spot a bad breakout, you’ll end up taking far more 7% or 8% losses than profitable trades. Three warning signs can tell you if a breakout is faltering. If any of the three happen, it’s OK to at least consider selling quickly — even before losses reach 7%.
